2026-27 Grants Program
Last year, our Poulsbo Rotary Club awarded $39,000 in small grants to 23 local non-profit organizations that share our mission to improve the quality of life, well-being, and safety of our North Kitsap community. We also awarded a $50,000 grant to Olympic College to fund a new EMT certificate program on the Poulsbo campus.
This Rotary year, we are introducing a new online application/review process to make it easier for organizations to apply for grants. Our two grant programs are described below.
Small Grant Program
$500 to $5,000
Each year, our club awards small grants that range in size from $500 to $5,000 to non-profit organizations in our local community to fund projects that fall into our preferred focus areas and meet other project criteria. Applications are submitted online and require a minimum of supporting documentation.
The small grant cycle opens in early October with online applications due in early November, and awards are announced in December.
Small grant applications may be accepted “out of cycle” but awards, if any, are subject to remaining availability of funds.
Major Grant Program
$25,000 to $100,000
The Club also awards grants for projects that will have a significant and lasting impact on the North Kitsap community. The application process is more extensive and involves a pre-qualification step where applicants submit a brief project description and justification to help us decide if it’s a project our Club would consider funding. If it is, the applicant will be asked to submit a detailed proposal and supporting documentation.
Major grants are not awarded every year; the process is highly selective, and we wait for the right project(s) to come along. We are also open to teaming with other organizations to help fund larger scale projects.
Pre-qualification applications may be submitted at any time during the year.
